Dr. Stephanie Marquet
Dr. Marquet has worked in palliative care and hospice for over 20 years. She is double-boarded in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Her strengths lie in her decades of experience working with complex patients and families paired with a deep belief in the importance of dignity and choice at all stages of life, including the end of life. A doctor’s job is to listen and ask questions so as to create a person-centered care plan.

As a specialist in patient-centered end-of-life care, Dr. Marquet is committed to providing high-quality, ethical, and compassionate medical care for her patients and their families.
She started her career as a Kaiser Internist with a focus on in-patient care. Throughout her career she has been drawn to caring for the very sick, which often means those with a short prognosis -- sometimes even only hours or days. She has spent the last 10 years focused on Palliative Care, with deep expertise in delivering care outside of the hospital setting. She has served as Hospice Medical Director for multiple Bay Area organizations, including Kaiser and Hospice East Bay.

Now in private practice, Dr. Marquet is able to see patients where they live. Her interests are in supporting patients and their families as they face serious illness. Her goal is always to help patients understand their disease, expected health trajectory, and what treatment options are reasonable. In the course of these discussions, she works together with the patient and their care team to match treatments to goals of care.
